However, their biggest rival at this point is Nissan, and in an attempt to overshadow the competition, Toyota is showcasing the new JPN Taxi Concept. The car was shown at the Tokyo Motor Show, and comes off as a riff on the legendary London Taxi.
The results of the 2013 Middle East Motor Awards were announced last evening at a ceremony on the Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah, hosted by Muhammed Ali Sajjad of the Expo Centre Sharjah. I was one of the 18 judges, although the cars were score and the points were tallied long ago, so were there just to hear who were the winners in each category, as well as Car Of The Year.

Al Futtaim Motors has just launched the 2014 Toyota Yaris Sedan in the UAE. It gets a completely new exterior design, but under the hood the same engine choices have carried over from the previous generation Yaris Sedan.
Yes, you read it right. It is a Yaris, with power figures of a combined 420 hp that could very well take on a V8 Mustang. But don’t get too jumpy yet, because this machine is just a hybrid concept which is coupled with a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder. The Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
There we were, a Ford Raptor in our parking lot, and the only logical thing to do was to venture into the desert wilderness. So we were on the lookout for a rental 4×4 as a backup vehicle for desert-testing something as big as a tank, in case it needed to get pulled out!
