As expected, nobody could hold a candle to the Red Bulls in Suzuka on Sunday afternoon as Sebastian Vettel led home team mate Mark Webber by nine-tenths of a second in a gripping race in which the five title contenders finished in the top five places. Vettel’s third triumph of the season, and Fernando Alonso’s third place for Ferrari, 1.8s behind Webber, moves the German into joint second place with the Spaniard, each on 206 points, as Webber moved out to 220 to extend his lead to 14.

Nissan’s UAE dealer will be launching the all-new 2011 Infiniti M37 and M56 models at a press event in Dubai on October 10, and will showcase the car to the public in their stand at the 2010 Sharjah Auto Show, starting October 14 this week. A wider Middle East press launch was already held in Lebanon, from what we heard.

The Kia Cerato hatchback is joining the Korean carmaker’s range for 2011. Technically similar to the 4-door sedan and 2-door Koup models, the new Cerato 5-door has the same overall width, height and wheelbase as the sedan, but the rear overhang is reduced by 190 mm, as is the overall length.

Our 2010 Chevrolet Cruze long-termer has left the building, having served as our primary mode of transport for the past month. It was practical, efficient and easy to manoeuvre around cramped city streets, so it was the car of choice many times over our Jeep Grand Cherokee, even when the occasion required us to make a good first impression. The Cruze looks upscale enough, with its angry face, big 17-inch wheels and relative rarity.

مع اقتراب يوم 23 سبتمبر 2010 الذي يصادف الذكرى السنوية الخامسة والسبعين لتأسيسها، نظمت سيارات جاكوار رحلةً احتفاليةً على مدى يومين بين مدينتي كوفنتري غودوود، وضمت 75 من أبرز السيارات التي قامت الشركة بتصنيعها منذ انطلاق أعمالها. وانطلقت هذه الرحلة الاحتفالية الخاصة في الساعة 10:30 من صباح يوم الجمعة الموافق 17 سبتمبر من مدينة كوفنتري، لتمر بجوار فندق “ماي فير” بلندن – المكان الذي شهد إطلاق الطراز الأول لسيارات جاكوار في عام 1935. وانتهت الرحلة يوم السبت 18 سبتمبر بوصولها إلى مهرجان “غودوود ريفايفال”، أكبر مهرجانات السيارات الكلاسيكية في المملكة المتحدة.

وضمّت الرحلة بمعظمها من سيارات جاكوار خاصة يقوم مالكيها بقيادتها، إلى جانب مجموعة من أشهر سيارات جاكوار الكلاسيكية مثل سيارات جاكوار “E – Type”
