Hyundai Elantra 2012 spotted in the UAE

Our frequent photographer, Faisal “Chunky” Khatib, caught this Dubai-registered camouflaged prototype on the streets of the UAE. The design cues suggest it is the 2012 Hyundai Elantra that has already been unveiled elsewhere, but is still undergoing hot-weather testing in the Middle East, even though it’s now winter.

The Hyundai Elantra is part of Hyundai’s product renaissance after the Sonata and the Tucson. The Accent was recently shown at the Abu Dhabi Motor Show, while the Azera has already debuted unintentionally on the internet, while the all-new Hyundai Veloster was spied testing here too.

Keep track of new models in the Hyundai buyer guide.

  1. The Elantra will have a 2.0 litre putting out 148 hp and 40mpg highway figures. It has a bigger interior than a Nissan Maxima. Beware Civic and Corolla, big sellers here in Canada

  2. in my opinion, hyundai elantra is the best compare to other competition.. especially th 2.0 theta engine

  4. Well even the new Accent has launched if i am not wrong i hv seen few of those in eastern province saudi arabia

  5. Bigger interior than Nissan Maxima? You mean the new one? I highly doubt that. Not totally impossible though. 🙂

Kudos to Hyundai for the ratings and the quality of their new products. 🙂

  6. In one week time, i will be one of those lucky owners who will be driving that car here in UAE.
    Cheers!!!
