2014 Honda City
The all-new 2014 Honda City has been officially launched for Saudi Arabia, UAE and other GCC markets, at a media event in Dubai.

The new City is slightly larger in every dimension, but gains a sizeable amount of wheelbase and, from what we saw, it is very spacious inside, to the point where its rear legroom is comparable to that of midsize sedans. They even had a Toyota Yaris and a Hyundai Accent on hand to demonstrate how much more spacious the City is.

Aside from the redone platform, the 118 hp 1.5-litre 4-cylinder is carried over from the previous model, while the CVT automatic has apparently been locally tuned to be more “sporty”. It still has front independent and rear torsion-beam suspension and front disc and rear drum brakes.

Other available features, depending on which of the three trim levels you choose, include 15-inch steel or 16-inch alloy wheels, smart keyless entry and start, ABS with EBD, two airbags, 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, USB/AUX/HDMI ports, manual or auto a/c with touch controls as well as rear vents, cruise control, paddle shifters, parking sensors and more.

We’re told the pricing is between Dhs 56,000 and Dhs 66,000. The Thai-built sedan is a bit more expensive than its rivals, but from what we saw, it offers a good package that sort of falls between the sub-compact and compact segments.

  1. In the Interior photo are the pedals placed wrong

  2. 2011 model is much much better

  3. “while the CVT automatic has apparently been locally tuned to be more “sporty””

Can they do that ? and how ?

  4. Honda City is already a big hit in the Indian market. I really don’t understand why Honda is very much keen in making its vehicles look like BMW.

  5. Prices are slowly creeping up to what the Civic used to be 10 yrs ago.

  6. I checked this car out today and drove the topc specification. I have to admit i was impressed. I’m 6 feet tall and had AMAZING leg and head room in the rear. Quite funny, The City has more space than the Civic…
Interior wise, some hard plastics which are expected in this segment, the air con touch pad was a nice feature and so was the touch screen. I did like the paddle shifter feature which allows you to shift till 7th gear. All in all, i have to say this car is value for money.
