Nissan Juke-R chosen to pace 24 hours endurance race in Dubai
The 2012 Dunlop 24 Hours of Dubai endurance race scheduled to be held at the Dubai Autodrome from 12 January to 14 January will be expectedly as spectacular as it has always been. But what may take on the spectators with surprise will be the pace car zipping around the track, which is going to be the Nissan Juke-R.

The 2011 Canadian F1 Grand Prix was held a few days ago. While Formula One does not interest us, certain on-track antics make for fun viewing. In what looks like amateur hour, one of the race marshals stepped out onto the track to help clear the debris from a previous incident, all while cars are still racing. And then he slipped and fell. Red Bull Car Park Drift held in Abu Dhabi
The Red Bull Car Park Drift event was held last weekend in Abu Dhabi. Meant to be the UAE Qualifier for the Middle East-wide Red Bull Car Park Drift 2011, there were as many as 25 contestants trying their luck, with Red Bull’s own sponsored driver putting on an occasional show that evening.
Maserati Trofeo race series launched for GCC
The Maserati Trofeo one-make racing championship was launched this week for the GCC region, at an event in Dubai. The series is backed by the Maserati factory in Modena, Italy and will feature up to 16 mechanically-identical Maserati GranTurismo MC Trofeo race cars battling it out over 12 races across the Middle East.
Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge 2011 edition is a go
We attended a press conference today at Yas Marina Rotana that marked the launch of the 2011 Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, the local desert rally event that attracts various international and local teams in a race across the inner sand dunes of the Emirates in cars, trucks and motorcycles. Highlights included overtaking a rally-modified Mini Countryman driving on the street, watching footage of previous races, and a hilarious episode where Mohammed Ben Sulayem jokingly got annoyed at being referred to as “MBS”.
UAE Drift event concludes in the UAE
UAE Drift launched Professional drifting last Friday by kicking off professional drifting in the middle east in dramatic fashion in the heart of Dubai in the UAE. Dubai the home of some of the biggest sporting events in the world would host the very first UAE Drift event.
