Truly standing out from the other launches in Dubai this year is the 2014 Lykan HyperSport, which remains the jewel of the Middle-East as it now dubbed the “First Arabian Hypercar”.
The 2014 Lexus GX 460 went on sale in the UAE last month, just before the Dubai Motor Show. Sporting a new front-end, actual changes are minimal, but the midsize luxury SUV in now available in three trim levels.
The 2014 Bentley Mulsanne Shaheen, a special edition specifically created for the Middle East market, made its debut at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show. The new luxury flagship model draws its inspiration from the Shaheen falcon, a bird of prey that is embedded in Middle Eastern culture and society.
Opel, who plans to make a full scale entry into the GCC show off their Cascada and the new Insignia at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show alongside the Corsa, Astra, Meriva, ZafiraTourer, the entire OPC line-up and the all new Opel Adam.
Amongst a slew of new launches, Maserati has officially launched three models of their exclusive lineup at the Dubai Motor Show this year; The Ghibli, GranCabrio MC and the GranTurismo MC Stradale. This marks their fourth entry into the region this year after the Quattroporte.
The 2014 Ford Fusion has finally been officially launched in the GCC, at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show. Also making its UAE debut is the Ford Ecosport, alongside the Ford Atlas Concept truck and the carryover 2014 Ford line-up.
The 2013 Dubai International Motor Show, held once every two years, has grown to become the largest auto show in the entire Middle East region. Regional new-model debuts included the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Chicane, the Peugeot 2008, the Ford Fusion and Ecosport, the Lincoln MKZ, the Toyota Corolla, the McLaren P1, the Nissan Patrol and Pathfinder Hybrid, the Alfa Romeo 4C and the SRT Viper, among others. Concepts shown included the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe, the Ford Atlas, the Hyundai Genesis, the Lexus LF-LC, the Jaguar C-X17, the BMW X4 and the Jaguar Concept 7. There are two new Fiat models on displayed at the combined Fiat-Chrysler Group stand in the Dubai Motor Show. Alongside the Fiat 500, that’s been in the UAE for a couple of years now, are the Fiat 500 Abarth and the Fiat 500L. Both cars are here to gauge public reaction, which will determine whether either of those cars join the regular Fiat 500 in the GCC line-up.
The all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee made its official debut at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show, and despite what you may think of its styling, it looks like the most promising compact 4×4 in its class.
