To give the soon-to-be-discontinued SLR McLaren a fine send-off, Mercedes-Benz has introduced a new variant of the supercar, with an overly long name. The Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Sterling Moss will debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show. The car bears the name of British racing legend and Mille Miglia record-holder Stirling Moss, who drove the original Mercedes-Benz SLR racing cars from victory to victory during the 1950s.
The hot new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro was shown for the first time in the GCC, at the 2008 Abu Dhabi Auto Show. The Camaro will hit Dubai showrooms late next year.
Renault will be launching various new models at the upcoming 2008 Abu Dhabi Auto Show next week. Sitting among the new models will be the attractive 2009 Renault Laguna Coupe.
Photos of the upcoming 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class have been leaked onto the web before its official debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show in January. Judging by its looks, maybe the German manufacturer should keep the current model running a little while longer instead of releasing this muddled-up monstrosity.
Audi is launching the latest variant of its beached whale at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show. The R8 will now receive a version of the V10 that powers the Gallardo.
The latest generation of the Mini convertible will finally be released at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The new-for-2009 model will of course be based on the second-generation Mini Cooper that was launched in 2007.
Lexus unveiled the all-new 2010 RX 350 and RX 450h hybrid at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show. The RX supposedly pioneered the car-based luxury SUV segment when it launched in 1998 for he American market. The new model continues that old formula almost exactly.
The all-new Mazda 3 has been revealed at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show. So far, it looks like it will be called a 2010 model in America, although European markets will call it a 2009. The sedan was shown at the L.A. show, while photos of the hatchback have just been released. A UAE release should happen by early next year.
The 2008 Sharjah Auto Show is officially over. We’ve already packed up our tent and left. My BMW seemed to be a massive hit with people and kids looking for a photo op. It also got ignored by some people whose egos were too big to look at a used car. Sadly, it didn’t do anything for publicising this website, as most just thought we were a used car showroom. Either way, it was an interesting experience. Aspiring photographer Faisal Khatib took photos of the event for this gallery.
