A few weeks ago, Nissan launched their smallest crossover, the Magnite, to compete in India’s fierce sub-four-meter “Compact SUV” category. The segment is so lucrative that the Renault-Nissan alliance is not happy with just one product. So here comes the twin to the Magnite, the 2021 Renault Kiger.
The Jeep Compass is a very important sales driver for the brand globally, even though it’s been a bit of a flop in the UAE and other GCC markets. The compact crossover SUV has been running its current guise for more than 3 years now. Jeep revealed a facelift for the Compass in China late last year, which just made its Indian debut as well.
The BMW M5 has always been considered as the benchmark for high-end sports sedans. Back in June 2020, BMW updated the M5, and while it hasn’t made much of a splash (“Even more power? So what’s new”), but the more hardcore M5 CS is upping the ante, with even more performance and less bulk to lug around.

The current Fiat 500 has been around for a decade now with almost no visible changes. While the car is long in the tooth, the good thing is the sportier Abarth 595 versions are still around. And there is yet another new variant this year in an attempt to keep the model fresh on the unchanging showroom floor. The latest “special edition” is the 695 70th Anniversario (as it is customary for Fiat to rebadge yearly special models as “695”).
When Tesla unveiled its Model Y back in 2019, it was quite obvious that they will come up with a less expensive base variant. Just released now, the new Tesla Model Y Standard Range fits into the range as the cheapest offering. It comes as a surprise since the CEO of Tesla himself had denied its existence via Twitter back in 2020. Aside from that, the small crossover gets a third row of seats too.
Back in 1996, Porsche came up with a small sports car which grew into a benchmark with time. The Porsche Boxster is now an entry step into the Porsche range, giving you almost the fun of a 911 while burning a smaller hole in your wallet. The Mercedes-Benz EQC was the brand’s first venture into the EV crossover category that remains dominated by Tesla. The German carmaker hopes to grow the EQ family of EVs to about 10 models by 2022. They have just revealed the smallest entrant to the family, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz EQA.
As the former owner of a Jaguar and a Land Rover, we can tell you a thing or two about British-luxury-car ownership. The after-warranty costs for our XK Coupe and Range Rover went up so high (think the price of a new Yaris, each) that eventually we came to our senses and bought Japanese. Jaguar Land Rover MENA has just announced a new optional warranty extension as “part of Jaguar Land Rover’s efforts to minimise any concerns typically associated with owning an older vehicle.”
Chinese EV maker NIO made headlines with their new 150 kWh Solid-State Battery pack a few days ago. The tech will go into their first sedan, joining as the flagship vehicle to their lineup. Called the NIO ET7, the large sedan can return a colossal 1000 km range with the new battery pack.
