Dodge has added a bit of spice to its Hemi-powered Challenger R/T for 2013, as they are now offering a new ‘Redline’ package that makes its official debut at the Chicago Auto Show. The R/T Redline builds on the ‘Rallye Redline’ kit that was created for the V6 Challenger.
Maintaining their tradition for the fourth year in a row is Dodge, whose parts-and-customisation wing Mopar is offering a limited-production model yet again decked with plenty of add-ons.
Built by General Motors’ Australian division, the Holden Commodore has finally received a redesign for 2013. For those not in the know, the Commodore is the rear-wheel-drive midsize sedan that formed the basis for the Chevrolet Lumina models in the Middle East, right until 2011, when the car was quietly discontinued here in favour of pushing the front-wheel-drive Chevy Malibu as their new midsize offering in the GCC.
Ford Middle East has officially “launched” the all-new 2013 Ford Escape at the 2013 Qatar Motor Show, even while it’s already been available in certain GCC markets, such as the UAE, for several months now.
It may seem odd that we’re giving the new 2014 Toyota Tundra any attention, considering it’s not even officially offered in the Middle East. But the Tundra has a sizeable fan following in certain parts of the GCC, including the UAE, where there is a thriving grey-import market for these trucks for no apparent reason.

We snagged an invite to the 2013 edition of Jeep Jamboree Dubai in early January, a dealer-organised event open to all Jeep owners in the country. We went to the Jamboree a year go as well, all of it a desert drive with a dealer-provided five-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, so we figured this year would be the same. But they threw a few surprises at us in the form of a mixed wadi-desert combination, that too with a smaller three-door Jeep Wrangler.
