First drive: 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 in the UAE

Positioned as a “lifestyle vehicle” rather than a work-truck, the Chevrolet Silverado has garnered a following in the UAE among a certain subset of the population, more so than all its rivals in the full-size truck segment. Such is the case with the latest mass recall of 3.4 million vehicles produced by four unrelated Japanese carmakers between 2000 and 2004 for faulty airbags produced by parts-supplier Takata Corp. Information is also emerging that General Motors and BMW may also be affected.
