It’s been almost a year since we last tested their car, but we’re in with Ford again, and managed to snag a 2011 Ford Edge Sport for a two-day test. The Edge has undergone a frontal facelift, but the big news is all under the skin.
Chrysler held a two-day media event for the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the UAE. And by “all-new”, we really do mean all-new. Now based on a Mercedes-Benz M-Class platform, that’s where the similarities end between the former siblings, as the Jeep is a completely unique vehicle.
The 2011 Ford Mustang has been launched in the UAE at a crowded event inside and outside the Dubai Autodrome’s Kartdrome grounds. We’d call the public event a success as about a million Mustang owners and fans showed up for the afternoon launch.

Around the Middle East, everyone with a penchant for drawing cars were invited to submit their ideas on how to modify a 2010 Ford Mustang GT, visual exterior and interior only. Ten judges, including me, were asked to rate the designs based on various criteria and whether they were feasible. Ford Middle East has finally launched the “new” 2011 Edge crossover in the UAE, although its first public debut was simply a display at the expensive GITEX tech trade show in Dubai.
German manufacturers Mercedes-Benz and Porsche have each taken home three awards at the first Middle East Motor Awards (MEMA) today. The awards were based on points issued by 13 judges for each nominated model. I was one of the judges.
Now under Fiat ownership, Chrysler is on a brisk product improvement drive, and the latest model to benefit is the unloved Sebring midsize sedan. If you’re eagerly awaiting the release of Transformers 3, don’t fret because it is still being filmed, and here is a glimpse of the action, even if unplanned. While filming in Washington D.C., a real Chevrolet Suburban police vehicle was responding to an emergency and cut across the set to save time. The “Bumblebee” Chevrolet Camaro collided with the Suburban, but there were no serious injuries. The Camaro was quickly covered up and moved away.
