The hottest news of the week in the UAE is that Toyota is having a fire-sale of 2010 models for 4 days, starting today. While this may seem overly generous to some, the truth is the showrooms are making way for the arrival of 2011 models. Dubai based Brit, Steve Blackney, set off on a lifelong dream over a week ago to race the famous Isle of Man TT circuit at the Manx Grand Prix. As a self funded privateer, he had the support of Dubai based superbike race team, Vendetta Racing, with race bikes supplied by Ducks Cross Racing of Bedford in UK. Steve has been preparing for this race for almost a year, racing with the team at UK’s Cadwell Park earlier in the year. Xenatec, a custom and armoured vehicle manufacturing specialist, has launched operations in the region with a base in Dubai under the name of Xenatec Middle East & Africa this month. Xenatec is headquartered in Germany and builds special modified vehicles such as stretch limos and armoured cars, supplying components in the bodywork process and interior in-house. The company creates complete vehicles from concept development to design and prototyping, through to production.
