Oshkosh Defense, a division of the Oshkosh Corporation that is better known as a maker of airport fire trucks, is showcasing their latest range of military vehicles at the IDEX 2011 defence exhibition in Abu Dhabi. Oshkosh Defense makes vehicles for operations such as cargo hauling, vehicle recovery, surveillance and reconnaissance, troop transportation, and weapon-system support, or rather, everything short of a tank.

The Toyota unintended-acceleration recall scandal is famous around the world now, although it seems as if the Americans actually did anything about it. The U.S. Department of Transportation enlisted the help of NASA scientists, the same ones responsible for the American space programme, to have a look at the issues and software within Toyota and Lexus cars to see if the excessive unintended-acceleration claims had any electronic basis, as claimed by some. The engineers could not find anything pointing to an electronic problem.

Volkswagen as released new images of the upcoming facelifted 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan. The model hasn’t received any new exterior changes since its debut way back in 2007, and this redesign can be treated as a mid-cycle refresh.
Mazda has revealed the 2012 Mazda 3. It gets a minor facelift, but the engine and transmission will be new, which will help gain better fuel efficiency numbers, but at the same time produce better low and mid-range torque.
Porsche plans to reveal their latest variant of the Panamera at the Geneva Auto Show. The 2011 Porsche Panamera S Hybrid will be the sixth model in the Panamera line-up. It will feature the same hybrid engine found in the Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid.
MR Car Design has revealed their version of the 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG. The German tuner has updated the exterior as well as done some minor tweaks to the engine to increase output.
BMW has launched the new X3 in the Middle East. The 2011 BMW X3 has a completely new interior and exterior. It will also get new engines.
The “all-new” 2012 Honda Civic has been unveiled, at least in U.S. guise. It remains a good car, but it is not as ground-breaking as the outgoing version was back in 2006, and in fact looks like a facelift rather than a full redesign.
