The current generation of the Nissan Murano has been out for a year now in the GCC, and is a rather rare sight on Dubai roads, partly due to an massive increase in price and partly because that increase came in the middle of the worst recession ever. However, the newly-premium Murano had actually debuted two years ago in Europe, so their version has received a facelift for 2011.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2011 gets better interior


The Hyundai Genesis Coupe debuted for 2010 with much fanfare, being directly compared to the Infiniti G37 Coupe by the foreign media. It was launched in the UAE in only a single V6 trim level, priced almost half as much as the tiny Nissan 370Z. We never drove it, but we did feel it up at the Dubai showroom. The interior was a let-down in terms of materials, but it looks like Hyundai has addressed that for the 2011 model year.

مبيعات مجموعة BMW الشرق الأوسط تسجّل ارتفاعاً بنسبة 13% خلال النصف الأوّل من عام 2010

توّجت مجموعة BMW الشرق الأوسط الأشهر الستة الأولى من عام 2010 بزيادة في المبيعات بنسبة 13% مقارنة بالفترة نفسها من عام 2009. وقد سلّم صانع السيارات الراقية الأكثر نجاحاً في العالم في 14 سوق في الشرق الأوسط لعملائه 8096 سيارة من BMW وميني، ممّا يشير بالتأكيد إلى قوّة هاتين العلامتين التجاريتين في المنطقة.

وقد حققت الشركة أرباحاً في كافة أسواقها الـ14 في الشرق الأوسط. وسجّل باكستان واليمن مبيعات تفوق الضعفين مقارنة بالفترة نفسها من السنة الماضية بحيث ارتفعت المبيعات في باكستان بنسبة 180% (14 سيارة) وفي اليمن بنسبة 105% (39 سيارة). أمّا الأسواق الأخرى التي حققت مبيعات ملفتة فكانت سوريا مع 65% (742 سيارة)، وأبو ظبي مع 38% (1707 سيارات)، وهو العدد الأكبر من السيارات التي بيعت في الشرق الأوسط، والمملكة العربية السعودية مع 19% (1478 سيارات).

It is longer, wider and taller than the old model, but its exterior and interior hold no surprises. BMW claims that their X6 is a “coupe” while it has four doors. While that tidbit was thought up by marketing types, and is completely wrong, BMW still had hit on their hands. The X6 is the best-selling BMW in the UAE and possibly the whole GCC. The four doors ensured its success. But Russian tuners Apmotex wondered what a real X6 coupe would be like.

Land speed record with Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

On a beautiful sunny day at 25 degrees the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport achieved a new land speed world record for production cars, on the testing grounds of the Volkswagen Group at Ehra-Lessien (near its headquarters at Wolfsburg). In the presence of the German Technical Inspection Agency (TÜV) and a representative of Guinness Book of Records, the Super Sport achieved an average top speed of 431 kph.

McLaren MP4-12C public debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed

McLaren Automotive’s new sports car, the MP4-12C was given its public world debut at the 2010 Goodwood Festival of Speed, held last week, with current Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button and 2008 Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton driving a McLaren Orange Validation Prototype 12C up the famous Goodwood Hill.
