Dubai Police impounds 80 vehicles in one week


Within just one week, the Dubai Police impounded 80 vehicles for violating traffic rules, apparently all within the Bur Dubai area. More than half of these cars were confiscated for expired registrations, while another car owner who bagged fines worth Dhs 154,415 also had his car taken away. Surprisingly, the latter vehicle owner never showed up to address his hefty fine issue.

A car buyer in China nearly escaped a ‘great fall’ after he drove a Volkswagen half-way out of a showroom window, located on one of the higher storeys of the building. The showroom salesperson let the customer have his way when he requested to hear the engine noise of the vehicle he was planning to purchase. Of course, what the customer didn’t notice is that the vehicle he was about to check was already in gear. As he started the engine, the car started rolling forward, eventually crashing out of the showroom window, but the customer applied the brakes just in time to stop the vehicle from falling off from several floors above ground level.

For someone who’s not overly enthusiastic about cars, the Lexus IS 300C surely came as a surprise to me, something worthy of making a few good comments about. Looking from the exterior, personally, any 4-door sedan as I see it, is a ‘family car’ to me. This is what I thought of the Lexus IS 300C too as I got a first glimpse of it from our balcony. I later noticed it had only two doors.
