BMW seems intent on diluting its brand image further with every new model they create. As if the X6, the X5 and the X3 weren’t enough, the German company has now created an X1 soft-roader, to be shown in near-production trim at the 2008 Paris Auto Show.
Mitsubishi showed off the Sportback variant of their Lancer as a concept a few months ago. The production version of the Lancer Sportback will officially debut at the 2008 Paris Auto Show.
The 2009 Volkswagen Golf MK6 has already been revealed, but VW will be showing a GTI version of this new model at the 2008 Paris Auto Show. Changes in performance are minimal.
The weirdly-named Cee’d is probably Kia’s best car right now. Even weirder is that Kia’s GCC dealers, in all their wisdom, chose to launch the Mohave as quickly as possibly here instead of the Cee’d. The hatchback has been selling elsewhere for a while now, and Kia has now developed a hybrid version, as is all the rage right now. It will be displayed at the 2008 Paris Auto Show.
After the launch of the redesigned A4 sedan this year on yet another front-wheel-drive platform with all-wheel-drive tacked on sometimes, Audi is going to debut the sporty S4 version, with an all-new engine, at the 2008 Paris Auto Show.
Saab is going to show a soft-top version of an earlier concept car at the 2008 Paris Auto Show. Dubbed the Saab 9-X Air BioHybrid Concept, it offers a look as the future of Swedish car design.
The upcoming 2008 Paris Auto Show will host the reveal of the 2009 Audi RS6 sedan. Already available as an unloved station wagon, Audi finally figured out that a sedan version of the RS6 will sell better. Seen above is a slightly different version, with black-out trim instead of chrome.
Mercedes-Benz will be showing off this concept model at the 2008 Paris Auto Show. Called the ConceptFASCINATION or whatever, it offers a clear preview of the upcoming 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
BMW will be showing a crossover version of the Mini at the 2008 Paris Auto Show. Although only a concept for now, it hints at the design direction for future Minis, while gauging consumer reaction to a possible new variant to the Mini line.
Chevrolet’s last attempt at a minivan, called the Uplander, was a total disaster. Their new attempt will be shown off as a concept at October’s Paris Auto Show.
